BEAUTIFUL BOTANICAL INsPiRED Gladioli PMC OOaK Pendant

Description

This is a pendant made from PMC Fine Silver. The pendant is one of a kind. Like clay, the pendant is made from a mold and has idiosyncracies that make each one unique and are hand finished. These are my own designs. I was inspired by women's history of  nature or botanical work as well as miniatures of the past. I like to embrace the intricate, delicate form of flowers and a love that flowers have to communicate beyond words. Flowers are imbued with symbolic meaning that has been throughout time and cultures. Literature is filled as well as art history references to nature and flowers. So when you look at a flower, there is so much meaning. I hope my flowers are worn and enjoyed. These are one of a kind since I hand finish. This is my rendering from a botanical drawing or print in relief. So this is a creative leap from the actual flower, the Gladiolus. From what I knew at the time I carved it, the gladiolus represents courage, faith, and strength. I recently learned from Teleflora that this flower also "represents infatuation, with a bouquet conveying to a recipient that they pierce the giver's heart with passion. Striking and colorful with towering stems, this August birth flower and 40th wedding anniversary flower evoke the drama of Roman gladiators." Quite a nice discovery! But of course, it is figurative and recognizable as the flower. I enjoyed the process....learning and exploring ... My hope was for it to be worn and enjoyed, be it as a gift as Teleflora suggests a special person or for oneself...
